these women may well change that !!!
Marissa Mayer 38 CEO of Yahoo (7/12 = 16 mo) #1 Biz Star under 40; #8 on the list of America’s most powerful Business Women of 2013. from Google’s 1st Engr in 1999 to Sr VP of many programs in 2012. She became a Mother in 9/12 & built a Nursery next to her Office at Yahoo. Bought Tumbler [Blogging Host] in 5/13. On Board of Walmart. Priorities: God, Family & Yahoo !!!
Emily White 35 Director of Business Operations, Instagram. (Online Photo & Video Sharing) Starting her career at Google, White moved from Facebook to Instagram after the latter was acquired, last year. A protégé of Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg, White is responsible for making sure Instagram, which rolled out its first Ad in November, turns a profit. [Update: White was hired last week as the COO of Snapchat [photo messaging], making her the company’s 2nd in command.)
Francoise Brougher, 48 Business head, Square [mobile-payment-device, ie, Smart-Phones] Another alumni of Google, where she oversaw billions in Ad revenues, Brougher joined Square — the company co-founded by Jack Dorsey— this year. She is responsible for its International expansion. Square may go public in 2014.
Meredith Perry, 24 Founder, uBeam [the charging analog to Wi-Fi, it uses ultra-sonic waves to transmit energy]. Perry is the youngest member of this list. She has turned skeptics of uBeam into investors, winning the minds and checkbooks of Mark Cuban (Shark Tank) & Marissa Mayer [Yahoo] – among others.
Katie Jacobs-Stanton, 43 VP of International Market Development, Twitter [Micro-Messaging Service]. Jacobs Stanton joined Twitter in 2010 after a stint at the U.S. State Dept under Hillary Clinton, where she helped devise the simple text-message donation platform used by the Red Cross following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Before going to Washington she was at Google & Yahoo, where Mayer reportedly tried to lure her back last year.
Ruchi Sanghvi, 31 x-VP, Operations, Dropbox [Internet File-hosting service] Facebook’s first female engineer, Sanghvi led the creation of the site’s News Feed. In 2010, she started her own company Cove (a collaboration, coordination & communication product for organizations & communities) It was so successful it was bought by Dropbox in a meare two years. Dropbox were so impressed with her that they made her VP of Operations. She has amicably left her executive role at Dropbox on 10/13 to have a Sabbattical and decide what challenge she wants to do next. Bachelors are trying to figure out her algorithims, because she is one of Silicon Valley’s most highest-profile, eligible professional bachelorettes.
